Seeking Safety

Monday- 10:00 AM 

Safety is an umbrella term that signifies various elements: discontinuing substance use, reducing suicidality, minimizing exposure to HIV risk, letting go of dangerous relationships (such as domestic abuse and drug-using “friends”), gaining control over extreme PTSD symptoms and stopping self harm behaviors. SEEKING SAFETY refers to helping consumers free themselves from negative behaviors and in so moving forward to free themselves from trauma at a deep emotional level.

Overcoming Depression

Tuesday- 10:00 AM 

Adults learn cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) skills to effectively control their thoughts and feelings. These powerful techniques help participants overcome depression and a wide range of other psychiatric symptoms.

Social Support Group

Tuesday- 11:00 AM

This is an open group for participants in the Relapse Prevention group and others with a primary or secondary substance abuse/dependence diagnosis in sustained recovery. Participants benefit from interaction with participants who are further along in the program and in their recovery while in a familiar, safe environment. Each group session focuses on a combination of discussion of recovery issues being experienced by group participants and discussion of specific, one-word recovery topics.  This group can also help the experienced participant strengthen their own recovery by serving as a role model, and remaining vigilant about continued abstinence.
