About Us
Appalachian Community Services provides Mental Health, Behavioral Health, Substance Use, and Developmental Disability services to individuals, families, and communities within the seven western counties of North Carolina. We provide a wind range of walk-in, psychiatric, substance abuse, and crisis services to adults and children.
Our mission is to promote the emotional and physical well being of consumers in a safe and respectful environment. We are committed to providing a wide continuum of services to effectively meet the changing needs within the community.
Integrated Care Available When you Need It
Research has shown that individuals have better outcomes when their care providers work together. We call that integrated care. Appalachian Community Services has psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, counselors, case managers, peer support specialists and support staff who work as a team with primary care physicians to meet consumers' needs.
We know that individuals need services at the time they ask for them, so we have coordinated our system to make access as fast and simple as possible.
